In the third quarter of 2021, the top News and Magazines applications in Ghana experienced varying trends in their weekly downloads and active users. Here’s an overview based on data from Sensor Tower.

Opera News Lite - Less Data saw its weekly downloads peak at approximately 187K in early August, followed by a decline, ending the quarter at around 12.9K. Weekly active users also exhibited fluctuation, starting at 227K in late June and peaking at almost 447K in early August before settling at approximately 243K by the end of September.

Opera News: breaking & local had a relatively consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at around 39K and ending the quarter slightly lower at 31.6K. The number of weekly active users showed some fluctuations, starting at 861K in late June, peaking at around 882K in early August, and finishing the quarter at roughly 783K.

Scooper News: News Around You experienced a modest download rate, with numbers peaking at 13.8K in early July and ending at approximately 6.4K by the end of September. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 12.8K in late June, peaking at 15.1K in late August, and concluding the quarter at 12.6K.

Twitter Lite maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, ranging from 18.5K to 24.3K. Weekly active users remained remarkably stable, hovering around the 1M mark throughout Q3.

Quora: the knowledge platform had relatively lower downloads compared to other apps, with weekly downloads peaking at 2.2K in early September. The active user base remained stable, starting at 42.3K in late June and ending at approximately 45.8K by the end of September.
